The Bolle di MetalLU installation from the LU collection inaugurates a new era in wall decorative art: the first mixed-medium installation that transforms light into the absolute protagonist of any environment. Created by Master Fabio Fornasier, this luminous installation redefines decorative wall concepts through innovative dialogue between glass, metal and light.
The exceptionality of Bolle di MetalLU lies in its compositional structure: polychrome bubbles in blown Murano glass of varying techniques and dimensions, mounted on independent iron plates united by an interlocking system. The installation utilises natural light filtering through the rear structure, creating chromatic effects reminiscent of Gothic cathedral leaded glass reinterpreted through contemporary vision. LED technologies can be integrated to amplify luminous effects in controlled lighting environments.
The creative process of this experimental artwork demonstrates Master Fornasier's continuous research into light and its expressive possibilities. Frontal perspective reveals polychrome glass bubbles that illuminate against dark metallic backdrop, whilst lateral views captivate with coloured volumes commanding surrounding space, creating dynamic luminous sequences.
Bolle di MetalLU transforms every wall into dynamic, interactive surface where Venetian craftsmanship meets contemporary experimentation. The installation has achieved international recognition, exhibited at Murano Glass Museum in 2016 and Milan Furniture Fair in 2019.
